Mainly pictures...

Nothing too exciting has been going on so... here are just some of Dylan's latest pictures...

Snoozing with dad.
Eating with Auntie.
Cuddling with Cousin Courtney.
In reading Mel's old blog posts, I saw that she had Christian in the boppy sideways and on his belly so I thought I'd try it with Dylan. The belly one I can consistently get her in comfortably but the sideways position is another story. Usually she looks squished and uncomfortable but this is the one time I was successful.
Happy in her swing.
BBQ at the Hopkins.
Dylan and her good friend Monroe.

Best invention ever!

I think we have reached the turning point of Dylan's sickness. Thank GOD! And thanks to the good advice of my friend Suong - an automatic nasal aspirator. In my opinion... BEST invention to date! The manual bulb aspirator just wasn't getting much out but this thing... snot galore! And the most gratifying part is that it collects in this clear well so you can see it!

Live and learn... while we were up in Seattle for Father's Day... Dylan started throwing up. As first time parents, Marty and I panicked and called the pediatric advice line. But just as soon as we did - we realized that it was our fault she was throwing up. They told us to have her sleep in her carseat so she could be upright... so we did. And we fed her while she was in it too and forgot to take her out to burp her. And well... with the burp came all the food. Needless to say, we were kind of embarrassed when the doctor called us back and we had to admit it was our own fault.

My heart is breaking for Dylan right now.

Oh man - Dylan is having such a hard time breathing. And last night she started coughing and wheezing. Listening to her struggle breaks my heart! Marty and I took her to the doctors today - we were afraid we were overreacting but they said that if we couldn't slow her breathing and relieve some of her congestion, we'd have to take her to the hospital. Scary!! So they gave her an albuterol treatment in the office which helped. So we were sent home with instructions to saline and suction her nose every hour and give her an albuterol mask every 4 hours. And it's helping!! What a relief. WOW - only 5 weeks old and already causing her parents gray hairs.

Dylan has her first cold.

Dylan and I are laying low today. She has a cold and is really congested. I feel so bad for her. I know how miserable I feel when I catch a cold and my nose is all stuffy but for someone who doesn't yet know how to blow her nose... Very sad. I'm trying to keep her semi upright so she can breathe better. Even though she is sick... she's still cute (I put her in this dress for a minute because it's on the verge of not fitting and it was too cute not to wear at least once).

Dylan is 1 month old!!!

Dylan turned 1 month old today. It's hard to believe she was once as small as she was. Life is getting easier since we are now establishing a routine. She has finally figured out day versus night and is now sleeping between feedings at night. What a relief!! Every day I feel like she is getting heavier and longer! Times passes so fast these days! Here are some pictures of Dylan on her 1 month birthday.
Here she is with her daddy... we were visiting with John, Amanda, and Monroe.
"It's been a long day... I'm ready for bed!!"

Dylan's first trip to Seattle.

Marty and I drove up to Seattle so Dylan could meet the rest of the family... minus my brother and his family in Arizona - who she hopes to meet very soon. Here she is with Jonathan - one of her cousins.
And with cousin Courtney... Dylan loves being in her arms.
Dylan loves her Ah gong (grandfather).
Here are the proud grandparents with the 2 latest grandbabies... Caden and Dylan. There is another due in July in Arizona.
Me and my brother KC with our babies. I'm glad Dylan has cousins about the same age... can't wait to see them grow up together.
My sister with Dylan and Lan with Caden. I wish I had noticed that Caden was covering up Lan's face.
My sister, Seine, with Dylan.
We had a great - but short - trip to Seattle with the family. As usual, my mom cooked up a storm for a family dinner and so that I could have food to take back with me. Ahhhh - that makes life so much easier! Thanks mom!
