HAPPY NEW YEAR!

New Year's Eve was spent at the Hopkins with great friends.
This night involved numerous costume changes!
We are so thankful for great friends - adults and children!
Best friends.  Milk.  And show.  What could be better?
 Pure fun!

Decorating the Christmas tree.

This post a little tardy...  as are all my posts!  But better late than never.
Dylan's BIG cheesy smile.
Dylan is concentrating hard on hanging the decorations.
Dylan finally wanted to wear her Olivia costume!  YAH!  She asked to be Olivia for Halloween but then refused to wear it!  UGH!  I'm just glad we're getting some use out of it before it gets too small.

Christmas Traditions.

Dylan asked Santa for a teddy bear and since we didn't get a chance to actually sit on his lap and tell him...  I wrote him a letter.  Looks like he thought she was a good girl this year.
 And a surprise harmonica.
Even though her stocking is turned over on the naughty side...  she really was good this year and Santa filled her stocking up with good stuff.
Even Brooklyn was deemed good by Santa this year and she got a basket of toys that she proceeded to destuff.
Dylan got her present from Santa but didn't get much from mom or dad.  Not because she wasn't good but there's so many kids that are less fortunate so instead of buying for her, we bought for 2 14 year old males and a 16 year old male from her giving tree at school this year.  And she didn't complain...  I think we'll keep doing this for the Christmases to come.

Also we went to the movies and saw Frozen on Christmas day.  I think we will also do this again.

One thing that we are not going to make a tradition is the hospital ER visit!  And she agrees!

Family.

Dylan...  the morning after her fall...  back to her happy self.  Here she is with Ah Ma and Ah Gong.
The tall side of the family.  They don't look very tall...  I should have been in the picture for size reference.
I have more pictures on my camera but have yet to download them.  I wonder if I'll get around to it before summer.

Stitches for Christmas!

Just as we were going to sit down for Christmas dinner with my family in Seattle...  Dylan took a tumble off a recliner and onto a coffee table with a thick glass top.

Heads bleed a lot!!  This was after it was cleaned up, bleeding stopped, bandage placed, and off to the ER we went.  Swedish Hospital in Issaquah.  They were great and very quick in checking us in.  We were greeted immediately by the security guard with a beanie baby for Dylan.  We waited quite a while for the doc to stitch it up but in hindsight, it was probably good since the topical was taped to the wound and had a good hour to soak in.  And she didn't need any more anesthetic before the suturing.
This is the doc testing the site to make sure it didn't need more anesthetic.
This is how open it was!  Gross!
 All stitched up and resting.
By the time we got home, we missed it all.  Oh well...  it will be a memorable Christmas.
